For my choir class our last assignment was to sing Star Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful at graduation. Probably wondering where this is going huh? Anyways something hit me. Not when we were singing at the graduation, but afterwards when the teacher started calling out the graduates names. I was listening to the countless names that were receiving degrees and then something dawned on me. Some of those people they were calling out were in my graduating class. Many of which are transferring.
I stood there thinking to myself and wondering why I was not graduating on stage. 1st semester I overdid myself. 2nd semester was decent. 3rd semester did not have 15 units. 4th semester was a big fail with only having taken a Ballet class and Choir. I must say that I was feeling sad at that moment watching all those graduates walking. Then one of my friends came up behind me and instantly was cheered up.
I came to realize that I have to do things at my own pace. I know myself more than anyone. Might take me 3 years or 5 years till I am going to transfer who knows. I have been too caught with having to do this or that at by a certain time and I can say that has affected my work quality in every semester. I would take on too much at once and put myself into situations in which I would sacrifice my study time for one class to study for another class. You can say I lack self discipline when it comes to studying or doing homework and I admit that might be true. Though I am still learning.
I have grown so much from 2 years ago when I graduated from high school. I may not have graduated on time with some of my peers, I may not have the grades I like to be getting, but I am still liking the person I am becoming. Physically I don’t have anything thing to show for my growth like a degree or awards, but I have more confidence, new found hobbies and new found motivation. This past year was the year of finding my hobbies seeing where those hobbies could take me. I am ready for this upcoming year at Allan Hancock College. I want to end this year with something I can physically have to show how I have grown….

I got into the summer show at my school. Yippie! I was casted in two pieces. Rehearsals start next week and I must say I am pretty excited. We perform at Disneyland and the SB Fair. I am more excited for Disneyland. I have not been there since I was a little kid. =D Alright I am going to eat a donut now.

Oh yeah! I forgot to talk about ballet! Today, I mean yesterday, was our final. I must say ballet is pretty hard. Definitely works out your whole entire body. Im glad I stuck it through this class. Definitely learned a lot about posture and my balance has definitely improved. Im even considering taking Ballet again, just not now. I still want to take a Modern dance class and Jazz then I will do repeats. :] Also props to those in my class who made ballet look so easy and flawless. I don’t know how you all did it. If I can just be as good as them….. naaah jk haha
That means I get to blog a lot more haha. I don’t really have any set plans for this summer. Going to audition for the summer show and just take a statistics class. I guess that is something to look forward to. On the other hand I can not stop listening to opera music. Sounds so amazingly good! I can’t believe people are capable of doing such complicated sounding things to their voices. Makes me just wanna sing in my opera voice. ;]
Let us recap on this semester. This semester was a fail/success one. I felt accomplished this semester because I actually participated in the dance program at my school and participated in a choir performance. Both experiences were amazing and I wish to do it again next semester. The failing part of this semester is that I ended up dropping the only academic classes I had this semester. I dropped my Calculus 2 class and I also dropped my Anthropology class. I was disappointed in myself. Now I have to make up the classes I dropped next semester. On top of that I need to start on my Biology and Chemistry classes. Imma be busy next semester, but I still want to dance and sing. Cant do both. Gosh I need to get my priorities straightened out.
